So they are banning liquids and gels on airplanes because a "terrorist cell" was planning an attack on several flights using liquids bottles and cream tubes.

What's next? Strip searching and x-raying kids and seniors because "terrorists" could be embedding explosives in clothing and inside bodies?

Of course, before this only the criminals knew how to do this, but thanks to the media, everyone now knows how to do it.

Let's see: spend billions on airplane security so a few hundred won't die, but don't spend a cent to stop thousands from being killed (cars, murder, etc).

If we stopped making airplane terrorism a huge news story, "terrorist" would stop blowing them up.

The federal goverment promises money for the provinces for transportation, military, and businesses.

Yet, businesses already have money, the tax cuts don't mean much to most canadians, and transportation money will be wasted.

It's more like show and tell than making canadian's life's easier.

Of course, business like the budget. On the other hand, individuals think they like the budget, but wait till they find out how much it will cost them.

So Canada elected a new Prime Minister (and government).

The funny thing, nothing's changed - so far. All the promises they've made have so far not come true, and don't look like they will.

And to top it off, there's talk of another election being called soon!

Is it me, or do politicians care more about power and greed, and less about citizens?

The political controversy of the week: Karla Homolka is getting out of jail.

The controversy? She made a plea deal to get less jail time, but people who don't understand our legal system think that she should spend the rest of her life in jail. So much for rehabilitation and second chances ....

The ironic part? The restrictions they set on her release make it like she's still in jail!

For that matter, the US had those too right after the Pearl Harbor Japanese attack, and Russia had them before it became "democratic" and may still have them, and the Roman Empire, and ...

The Prime Minister recently spoke on TV regarding the BIG news of the day: the Federal sponsorship scandal. Of course, the opposition had a difference of opinion.

So, instead of dealing with other important issues such as health, education, economy, culture, etc., the government and the media would rather waste time and money (much of it tax-payer's) talking about an issue that those involved have acknowledged and taken responsibility for.

What we need now is for another famous person to pass away or major environmental disaster to strike and this scandal will blow away, till the next one :)
